Housewife gang-raped in Kashiani
A housewife in Gopalganj has been allegedly gang-raped after being stopped from her easy bike, forcibly taken away at gunpoint, stripped naked, photographed and videotaped with weapons and drugs.
The gruesome incident took place at Ghonapara Bazar in Kashiani Upazila on Saturday (January 10) at around 7 pm. The victim has been identified as Brishti Akter (22) (pseudonym).
Later, when the victim contacted the Kashiani police station and wanted to file a case against the accused, she filed a case against 4-5 other unidentified people yesterday (January 12) in the learned Women and Child Abuse Prevention Tribunal, mentioning the names of the 5 accused and 4-5 others (Petition No. -12/2026 Section: Section 9(3)/30 of the Women and Child Abuse Prevention Act 2000 (Amendment – 2025) and Section 8(1)/8(2)/8(3) of the Pornography Act 2012).
The accused in that incident are Santu Molla (40) son of the deceased Shajahan Molla of Ghonapara area of Kashiani upazila, Hridoy (26) son of Jahangir alias Kalu of Jungle Makandpur area, Emon (28) son of Munnu of Ghonapara area and Asim Fakir (38) son of Dulu Fakir and the same Ahiduzzaman Talukder (45), son of the deceased Khabir Talukder of the Khairhat area of the upazila.
Later, it is learned that the learned trial court has ordered the officer-in-charge of Kashiani Police Station to file an FIR in the incident and take further legal action.
According to the victim and the case statement, on Saturday (January 10), at around 7 pm, at the head of the victim, Bristi Akter (pseudonym), while she was going to her sister’s house on an easy bike, the accused Ahiduzzaman Talukder and other accused held a pistol to the victim’s head and forcibly took her to the second floor of Mamun’s building in Ghonapara Bazar, stripped her naked, took her in drugs and weapons, took several pictures and recorded a video of her and threatened to release her on social media.
The victim screamed Then, they all raped her against her will and at one point she fell ill, and all the accused fled from there.
Later, when the witnesses were informed, they came and rescued the victim. Later, the victim failed to file a case against the culprits at Kashiani Police Station and filed a case with the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal.
At that time, the physically and mentally disturbed victim said that what happened to her should not happen to anyone else. I want the maximum punishment for the culprits.
It is to be noted that earlier, the rape victim filed a case (Women and Children Petition – 05/2026: Women and Children Repression Prevention Act 9(4)(b) Section B) against Ahiduzzaman Talukder in the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal on the charge of attempted rape of the housewife Brishti Akhter (pseudonym) on 05/01/2026.
The investigation is being conducted by Gopalganj PBI, said Jaber Alam Molla, the plaintiff’s lawyer and advocate of Gopalganj Judge Court.
