Accused in 27 cases arrested along with tools used in theft

A person named Milton Sarkar (49) has been arrested along with two stolen motorcycles, stolen motorcycle parts and various tools used in theft in a special operation by the Moulvibazar District Detective Branch (DB).
At a press conference at the Moulvibazar District Superintendent of Police office on Thursday (January 8), the police said that a motorcycle owned by one Azharul Islam was stolen from the garage of a house called ‘Raja Complex’ in the Barhat area of ​​Sadar upazila of the district around 12 noon on January 2.
A case was registered at Moulvibazar Sadar Police Station following the complaint of the victim in this incident. The District Detective Branch has started the investigation into the case.

With the help of police sources, CCTV footage and information technology, the District Detective Branch Officer-in-Charge Sudipto Shekhar Bhattacharya led by SI Jamil, along with other officers and forces, arrested Milton Sarkar alias Milton Kumar Saha alias Md. Sohel (49) from the Baraura Bagan area under Sreemangal police station in Moulvibazar district on Tuesday (January 6) night.

The arrested accused confessed to his involvement in the theft incident during initial interrogation. During further interrogation, he said that he had sold the stolen motorcycle in the case to a person in Sylhet district. The process of recovering that motorcycle is ongoing.

The accused also said that the helmet used during the incident and some other stolen goods are stored in his current address, i.e. the rented room of Madrasa-e Darul Mostafa in Sarkarbazar area of ​​Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila.

Based on the information received, a raid was conducted at the address with the assistance of the patrol team of Sherpur Police Outpost, Moulvibazar, along with the accused, to recover evidence of theft.
