It has been alleged that land bandits led by Monirul Akon have looted the paddy of farmer Abdul Mannan Akon’s land. The landowner Abdul Mannan Akon has made this allegation.
The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon in Paschim Sonakhali village of Amtali upazila.
It is reported that in 2016, Abdul Mannan Akon of Paschim Sonakhali village of Amtali upazila purchased 26 percent of the land in Khatian 301 of Sonakhali Mouza No. 23 from Rahima Begum. He has been occupying that land for the past 9 years.
On Wednesday morning, Shahinur Begum and her people led by Monirul Akon cut and looted the paddy of that land.
When the landowner Mannan Akon stopped them, they insulted him (Mannan). Police reached the spot after receiving the information and brought the situation under control.
Land owner Abdul Mannan Akon said, I purchased 26 percent of the land from Rahima Begum on October 25, 2016. I have been occupying that land for the past 9 years.
On Wednesday morning, Shahinur and his men, led by Monirul Akon, cut and looted the paddy of that land. When I stopped them, they insulted me. Monirul Akon denied looting the paddy and said, Shahinur cut the paddy of his land with his men. I have no hand in this.
Gazipur Police Outpost In-charge SI Hanif Mia said, after receiving the information, police were sent to the spot and the situation was brought under control. However, some paddy was cut.
He also said that both parties have been called. Action will be taken soon after hearing their stories.
