Financial assistance checks have been distributed to families affected by road accidents in Cox’s Bazar.

The check distribution ceremony was held at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Saturday (December 20).

A total of 1 crore 73 lakh taka was distributed to the families of 33 people killed and 4 injured in road accidents at the ceremony.

The ceremony was presided over by Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Md. A. Mannan, and Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) Chairman Abu Momtaz Saad Uddin Ahmed was present as the chief guest.

In his speech as the chairman, Deputy Commissioner Md. A. Mannan said that this financial assistance from the government to the families affected by road accidents is temporary but very important.

This assistance will be of some help to the families facing the difficult reality that the families face due to accidents.

He also said that the government is standing by the families of those killed and injured in accidents under the road transport policy.

The affected families will receive this financial assistance as per the rules if they apply in the prescribed form.

The speakers at the event urged everyone to be more aware to prevent road accidents. The concerned officials and invited guests were present at the time.
