Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB)’s Naikhongchari Battalion (11 BGB) has organized a free medical campaign for the helpless and distressed people of the border area.

The medical service program was conducted from 11 am to 2 pm on Monday (December 15) in the border area under the responsibility of the battalion’s Tirediva BOP area.

The Naikhongchari Battalion under the Ramu sector of Cox’s Bazar region has been ensuring border security in the remote hilly areas of the Bangladesh-Myanmar border in the southernmost part of Bangladesh and has been regularly conducting public welfare activities. Apart from border security, the battalion is playing an important role in curbing smuggling, drug trafficking, illegal infiltration and inter-state border crimes.

Under the medical campaign, free medical services were provided to the poor, helpless and distressed hill and Bengali people living in the border areas and necessary medicines were distributed. Local residents welcomed this humanitarian initiative of the BGB and expressed gratitude.

BGB sources said that such public welfare activities will continue in the future to improve the quality of life and increase confidence of the people of the border areas.
