BNP candidate Dr. Md. Anwarul Haque holds a meeting with journalists in Netrakona
Professor Dr. Md. Anwarul Haque, the district BNP president and BNP candidate for Netrakona-2 (Netrakona-Barhatta) constituency, a prominent orthopedic physician, held a meeting with media workers at the Netrakona District Press Club. He held a meeting at the District Press Club auditorium on Sunday (December 7) afternoon.
At the meeting, he said that newspapers are the mirror of the nation, journalists are the conscience of the nation. Journalists could not provide objective news during the fascist Hasina regime.
If BNP comes to power as per the verdict of the people, effective steps will be taken to ensure the freedom of the press and to improve the proper status of media workers and their standard of living.
He also said that although development was talked about during the fascist government, in reality there was no development in Netrakona.
Netrokona district is far behind other districts.
At the meeting, he sought the full cooperation of journalists, all walks of life, professions and the general public so that BNP candidates can win in the 5 constituencies of the district, including his constituency.
At the beginning of the meeting, prayers were offered for the recovery of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
Among others present at the exchange of views were former district BNP president Advocate Nuruzzaman, former district BNP organizing secretary SM Shafiqul Quader Shuja, former joint conveners Tajezul Islam Faras Shujat, Bazlur Rahman Pathan, district Krishak Dal president Salahuddin Khan Milky, Nationalist Muktijoddha Dal convener Freedom Fighter Haider Jahan Chowdhury, Press Club secretary Mahbubul Kibria Chowdhury Helim, Sadar Upazila BNP general secretary Tajuddin Faras Sentu and popular BNP leader Abdullah Al Mamun Khan Rony.
