The Upazila Administration and Ramu Upazila Social Services have initiated the 34th International Day of Persons with Disabilities and 34th National Day of Persons with Disabilities 2025 (Building a disability-inclusive society, accelerating social progress).
On this occasion, on December 3 at 10 am, the Day of Persons with Disabilities and National Day of Persons with Disabilities was celebrated at the Ramu Upazila Parishad Bakakhali Auditorium under the chairmanship of Social Service Officer Rozina Akter Ruby.
Executive Officer Md. Fazle Rabbani Chowdhury spoke as the chief guest at the event.
The program was attended by Upazila Engineer Kafil Uddin, Project Officer Debesh Chandra Das, Youth Development Officer Nur Mohammad, ICT Officer Nahid Masuma, representatives of Ramu Police Station, Ramu Social Service Office Assistant Hosne Mubarak Minar, Arafat Ullah, etc.
At the end of the program, Sub-district Cards were distributed to 169 people, assistive devices to 8 people, including crutches, walking frames, and wheelchairs.
The chief guest, newly appointed Executive Officer Md. Fazle Rabbani Chowdhury, said, “The neglected disabled people of the society are our closest relatives and relatives.
Let us pledge that we will take care of them and stand by them without neglecting them.” Various items were distributed among the disabled.
