Teachers are observing a work stoppage and annual examination boycott program in Khaliajuri upazila of the district in order to implement the three-point demands of assistant teachers of government primary schools by the Central Primary Teachers’ Demand Implementation Council. They have been observing this program since Wednesday (December 3) morning under the organization of the Primary Teachers’ Demand Implementation Council. The Upazila Primary Teachers’ Association has also expressed support for all these reasonable demands. In various slogans and speeches, the teachers promised and warned to continue the complete shutdown program in all government primary schools of the country for an indefinite period in protest against the police attack on Shahbagh on November 8, including paying the salary of assistant teachers in the 10th grade, permanent solution to the complications of higher grades, and ensuring 100% departmental promotion of assistant teachers. In this regard, Upazila Primary Education Officer Md. Ajimel Kader said that this is part of their central movement. I have nothing to say in this regard. However, it is true that students’ studies and exams are being severely affected. He also said that we are obliged to work according to government instructions.
