Power-hungry people have come to power again and again. But what gift did they give? They only gave the old wife a new saree.
So they will not be able to deceive the old wife by gifting her a new saree. The days of deception are over. Bangladesh will be the Bangladesh of Islam. We have come to the streets to save this country, said Amir of Islami Andolan Bangladesh and Charmonai Pir Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim. He said this while addressing the Rangpur divisional rally initiated by eight parties protesting at the city’s Collectorate Eidgah ground on Wednesday (December 3) afternoon as the chief guest. He said, today after 53 years of independence, we have got an opportunity. If we cannot utilize this opportunity, future generations will write history anew. Then they will write a sad history. After the fascists left the country in the July coup, we had a dream that corruption in the country would be prevented through reforms.
But a class of power-hungry people are not only crazy to come to power without making arrangements for reforms and bringing the fascists to justice, they have become doubly crazy. Charmonai Pir Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim said, the way Abu Sayeed has extended his two hands and saved the country from the hands of fascists, it is not to put those extortionists in power. It is not to smuggle the country’s money out of the country. So I want to tell the power-hungry people, forget the days when they came to power by showing power and authority and through black money. That day is no more. The people will say ‘no’ to them this time and oust them from the country, InshaAllah. The divisional rally held by 8 like-minded parties including Jamaat-e-Islami in Rangpur with five-point demands including the implementation of the July Charter and holding a referendum before the elections began with the recitation of the Holy Quran.
Later, after the speeches of local leaders, the rally, chaired by Jamaat-e-Islami’s Nayeb-e-Amir and former member of parliament Professor Mujibur Rahman, was addressed by Bangladesh Khilafat Majlis Senior Nayeb-e-Amir Maulana Yusuf Ashraf, Khilafat Majlis Nayeb-e-Amir Ahmed Ali Qasemi, Bangladesh Nezami Islam Party Senior Nayeb-e-Amir Maulana Abdul Majed Athari, Bangladesh Khilafat Movement Nayeb-e-Amir Maulana Mujibur Rahman Hamidi, National Democratic Party Vice President and Spokesperson Rashed Pradhan, and Bangladesh Development Party Chairman Advocate Anwarul Islam.
Earlier, at the beginning of the rally at the Collectorate Eidgah ground, Rangpur Metropolitan Chhatra Shibir President Nurul Huda, Rangpur Metropolitan Secretary of Islami Andolan Bangladesh Amiruzzaman Piyal, Rangpur Metropolitan Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami ATM Azam Khan, Rangpur District Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Professor Golam Rabbani and other local leaders spoke.
