A reception was held for the students who received scholarships in the Municipal Merit Scholarship Exam-25 at the initiative of Bandarban Municipality.The reception was held at the Bandarban Sadar Upazila Parishad auditorium on Saturday (November 29).Deputy Commissioner of Bandarban Shamim Ara Rini was present as the chief guest at the event.
At this time,the chief guest presented mementos,certificates and cash prizes to the meritorious students who were awarded the title of Municipal Talent. Bandarban Municipality Administrator S.M.Monjurul Haque presided over the event.
During the chief guest’s speech,the Deputy Commissioner said that the unique initiative of Bandarban Municipality to award the title of “Municipal Talent” to talented students has been widely appreciated.Such unique arrangements will undoubtedly play an important role in increasing students interest in studies.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops) Jinia Chakma,Chief Executive Officer of Bandarban Municipality Faizur Rahman and Executive Magistrate Jaya Dutta were present as special guests at the time.At the event,64 talented students were awarded the title of Municipal Talent and were felicitated by the Bandarban Municipality.
It is worth noting that Bandarban Additional District Commissioner S.M.Monjurul Haque after assuming charge as the administrator of Bandarban Municipality has been working to ensure better services to the residents by taking people-friendly decisions and making dedicated efforts.As a municipal administrator,such an event is a new milestone for students.Local parents and educators have welcomed this unique initiative by the Bandarban Municipality.
