The BGB has recovered three firearms and six rounds of bullets at the Shibganj border.
The weapons and bullets were recovered from the Chakpara border in Shibganj upazila of the district on Thursday night.
The BGB says that these firearms were brought from India to destabilize the law and order situation in the country around the upcoming national elections.
This information was given at a press conference at the 59th BGB battalion in Chapainawabganj this morning.
Lieutenant Colonel Golam Kibria, commander of the 59th BGB battalion, spoke at the press conference.
He said that based on secret information, a BGB team conducted a raid in the area adjacent to 183/4 S pillar of the Chakpara border.
At that time, three foreign single-shooter guns and six rounds of ammunition were recovered from the banks of the Pagla River, 25 yards inside the zero line of the border.
It is initially believed that these firearms were brought from India for terrorist activities to disrupt the internal law and order situation in the country.
