Cox’s Bazar, the world-renowned tourist destination, home to the longest sea beach in the world, has become a hub of excitement as the Arts and Trade Fair draws large crowds. Families and children thronged the Tourism Golf Course, which has been specially arranged to provide entertainment for visitors of all ages.
The fair, which opened on November 3, has quickly become a popular destination for locals and tourists alike. Brightly decorated stalls, soft music, and the aroma of diverse foods create a lively and festive atmosphere. Special attractions for children, including ferris wheels, trains, swings, water rides, magic shows, and a haunted house, have added to the excitement.
Children Thrilled by Entertainment Options
Visitors were seen enjoying the rides with wide smiles. Parents patiently waited in long lines, holding or carrying their children. During the holidays—Thursday, Friday, and Saturday—the fair witnessed an overwhelming turnout.
“After visiting the sea, I brought my children here. The fair offers a variety of entertainment for kids, which was truly needed,” said visitor Adrita Kabir.
Opportunities for Local Entrepreneurs:
Chairman of the Fair Management Committee, Sanaullah Abu, said,
“Over a hundred stalls have already opened. We have given special attention to children’s entertainment. This fair is not only for leisure but also provides a significant opportunity for local small entrepreneurs to showcase and promote their products.”
He added,”The Cox’s Bazar Chamber of Commerce and Industry,Bangladesh Freedom Fighters’ Council, Cox’s Bazar Unit and the Cox’s Bazar Journalists’ Union jointly organized this fair. It will continue until December, and the schedule may be extended depending on circumstances. Visitors can enter the fair daily from morning until midnight.”
A tourist from Dhaka emphasized the need for year-round facilities, saying,
“In a tourism-dependent city like Cox’s Bazar, permanent entertainment facilities for children should be established. Families visit throughout the year, so permanent play areas for kids are very necessary.”
According to visitors, the Arts and Trade Fair has become a prime destination for family outings. The laughter of children, crowded stalls, flavorful foods, and festive decorations have made the fairground a vibrant and colorful space, attracting people from near and far.
