A stakeholder workshop has been held under the Resilience, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood Improvement (RELI) project implemented by the Social Development Foundation (SDF) in Chapainawabganj Sadar Upazila.
The workshop took place on Monday at the Upazila Parishad conference room, where Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mr. Maruf Afzal Rajon attended as the chief guest. The event was presided over by SDF District Manager Md. Mahabubur Rashid.
Officials from various government and non-government departments, local government representatives, and leaders of village organizations were present at the program.
In his presidential speech, Md. Mahabubur Rashid said that the RELI project is an initiative of the Financial Institutions Division of the Ministry of Finance, implemented by SDF. Through this project, various development activities are being carried out, including poverty alleviation, capacity building through training, employment creation, financial assistance for income-generating activities, food security, formation of sustainable village organizations, grants for disadvantaged groups, rural infrastructure development, employment for unemployed youth, livelihood improvement, and health and nutrition support.
He also mentioned that SDF’s overall development activities are ongoing in 50 villages of Chapainawabganj Sadar Upazila.
In the concluding session, chief guest UNO Maruf Afzal Rajon expressed hope that through mutual cooperation and coordination with government and non-government departments, the ongoing SDF activities in Sadar Upazila would be implemented more effectively.
