Allegation of locking up house in Mohanganj demanding interest money
An allegation has been made against a woman named Rina Akhtar, a moneylender, for locking up her house in Mohanganj Municipality of the district, demanding interest money. Shafiqul Islam, a victim of Daulatpur Mahalla, has complained to the Deputy Commissioner’s office about this.
The complaint states that when Shafiqul Islam becomes seriously ill, he needs a lot of money for treatment. He took a loan of 80 thousand taka on interest from Rina Akhter, who lives next door. Later, when he made a profit of 1 lakh 50 thousand taka, he paid it back. Meanwhile, taking advantage of Shafiqul’s wife’s simplicity, Rina Akhter has now demanded 3 lakh 60 thousand taka by signing three stamps of 100 taka without any written on them.
When the Mahalla was consulted, the elders asked the Rinagongs to return the stamp. Instead of paying the stamp, they are demanding money. They are harassing the family every day in the fields and on the streets for money. In this way, today, Sunday at 8 am, Jamal Mia, husband of Rina Akhtar, came to the gate of the rented house in Daulatpur Para Mahalla and locked it with his son Ropan.
Later, the locals came and opened the lock. The locals told Rina Akhter and her family that it was unfair that they were demanding money even after paying the money. On the advice of the locals, Shafiqul Islam filed a complaint with the District Commissioner’s office on Sunday afternoon. Shafiqul Islam said that he is strongly demanding exemplary punishment by bringing the culprits under the law.
When he spoke to Rina Akhter about this, she brought up the issue of the complaint of installing stars at the gate of the house and said that the gate should have been locked earlier.
