Vice-Chancellor Says IUCSU to Be Finalized Within Two Months

The Vice-Chancellor of Islamic University (IU)Professor Dr. Nakib Muhammad Nasrullah has said that a proposal for forming the Islamic University Central Students Union (IUCSU) has already been submitted to the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the process will be completed within next two to three months.

On the occasion of Islamic University Day on Saturday (22 November) at Birshrestha Hamidur Rahman Auditorium, the Vice-Chancellor provided this information while delivering a short speech as the chief guest at a discussion session.

At that time he add that on this day in 1979, the foundation stone of this university was laid by the Saheed President Ziaur Rahman with the vision of establishing a modern and exemplary education system that would integrate science, modern knowledge, social sciences, and religious studies. The institution was built to should be offer a blend of modern academic environments.

Additionally, he noted that the strengthen of university’s international network, earlier memoranda of understanding are being reactivated while new partnerships are being pursued.

At the end of his speech, he added that though teaching and research are the core functions of the university, government allocations for research remain insufficient. Therefore, initiatives will be taken to mobilize funds from various sources. With collective support and goodwill, Islamic University will gradually transform into a modern and exemplary center of higher education.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday (27 August), the university administration formed an 11-member committee to draft the constitution and regulations for conducting the Islamic University Central Students Union (IUCSU) and hall council elections.
