Armed Forces Day celebrated with due dignity at Ramu Cantonment
Like every year, this year too, Armed Forces Day was celebrated with due dignity at Ramu Cantonment in Cox’s Bazar on Friday (November 21).
The General Officer Commanding 10 Infantry Division and Area Commander Cox’s Bazar Area Major General Mohammad Asadullah Minhajul Alam welcomed all the distinguished guests including freedom fighters at the event.
In his welcome address to all those present, the chief guest highly appreciated the immense courage, cooperation and heroic contribution of the people of Cox’s Bazar region in the Liberation War.
He paid humble tribute to all the brave martyrs including the brave freedom fighters of Cox’s Bazar region and thanked all the freedom fighters, martyr family members and invited guests who came.
The chief guest also said that in addition to performing professional duties, the armed forces have stood by the people at every juncture of the country.
At the same time, he highlighted the contribution of the armed forces in dealing with any disaster at the national level, combating terrorism in the Chittagong Hill Tracts, assisting the civil administration and various nation-building activities.
He also highlighted the importance of the armed forces members performing their duties faithfully in UN peacekeeping operations to brighten the country’s image in the international arena.
Among others, heroic freedom fighters, family members of martyrs, military and civilian officials, former members of the armed forces, local dignitaries and media persons were present at the event.
