Hakimun Nessa Bappy, the Chief Executive of WAYDO – Women Service and Youth Development Organization – has achieved a remarkable international milestone. She has been selected as one of the Top 7 global finalists for the WINDRR Rising Star Award 2025.
The prestigious recognition is presented by the Women’s International Network on Disaster Risk Reduction (WIN DRR), supported by UNDRR (United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction) Asia-Pacific. Bappy is being honored for her outstanding leadership, dedication, and active engagement in disaster risk reduction, women’s empowerment, and youth development.
Her relentless efforts at the grassroots level have helped mobilize women and young people across Bangladesh, contributing significantly to building sustainable and resilient communities.
WAYDO stated that this achievement is not only Bappy’s personal success but also a powerful symbol of the strength, capability, and global impact of women-led organizations in Bangladesh.
