BNP leaders and activists of hill Bengali caste and religion have united to hold a march demanding the nomination of District BNP Member Secretary Md. Jabed Reza as the paddy sheesh in Bandarban constituency no. 300. Monday (November 17) morning, thousands of BNP leaders and activists of different castes and religions took part in the march from the stadium area of Bandarban district town, holding banners and festoons and raising slogans in favor of Jabed Reza.
The march marched around the important roads of the city and ended in front of the Press Club.
Earlier, thousands of hill Bengalis from seven upazilas and thirty-three unions of the district gathered at the march venue.
Later, former municipal councilor Ayub Khan, Marma community leader Sai Sai Nu Teto Marma, Sanatan Dharmavalambi leader Pompi Das, Zia Mancha president Musa Howlader and others spoke at the march.
The speakers at the march demanded that a non-communal and youth leader be needed to stand by the hill Bengalis in the hills in their joys and sorrows.
Keeping the senior BNP primary nominee, respected Saching Prue Jerry Babu, in a respectable position, the pride of the youth, the beloved leader of the hill people, District BNP member secretary and former successful mayor Md. Javed Reza, should be nominated as the candidate for the paddy sheaf.
In constituency no. 300, the hill Bengalis of all walks of life in Bandarban have one demand. The people of the hilly Bengali villages, regardless of religion or caste, have come out in support of Javed Reza.
Our expectation is that the BNP high command, including BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman, will evaluate the demands of the people.
