Fire Safety Plan No Objection Certificate can now be downloaded online
The Fire Service and Civil Defense Department has said that from now on, customers can download and print a copy of the approval of the fire safety plan from home. Until now, they had to go to the department in person to collect this copy. The press release of the media cell mentioned that this system has been introduced as part of a continuous effort to simplify the official services of the public.
Earlier, only applications could be made online, but copies of the approval of the fire safety plan could be obtained manually. The director (operations and maintenance) of the department, Lt. Col. Mohammad Tajul Islam Chowdhury, SGP, psc, said that this facility has been introduced to implement the instructions of the Director General and bring transparency in the service.
He said that according to the ‘Fire Prevention and Extinguishing Act 2003’, fire safety plans are mandatory for various commercial, industrial and multi-storey residential buildings.
He expressed hope that this new online facility will encourage customers to comply with the law, strengthen fire safety in buildings, and increase the ability to deal with fire accidents.
