The Teknaf Police Station in Cox’s Bazar has arrested two absconding criminals in a drive.
Both of them have been under the surveillance of law enforcement agencies for a long time as accused in many cases. The arrested are UP member Nurul Huda (46), son of the late Abul Kashem, a resident of Leda Ward No. 8 area of ​​​​Hnila Union in Teknaf, and Rashid Mia (35), son of the late Kabir Ahmed, a resident of Habir Chha Ward No. 1 of Teknaf Sadar Union. Cox’s Bazar District (Special Branch) Additional Superintendent of Police Alok Biswas confirmed the arrest at 1:30 pm on Saturday (November 15). He said that on the same day, at around 2:30 am, a special operation was conducted in Leda area of ​​Hnila Union in Teknaf and Nurul Huda, former Finance Secretary of Hnila Union Awami League, Ward No. 8 Awami League President and UP member, one of the 102 surrendered drug dealers, was arrested. There are a total of 28 cases against him. Of these, 16 are drug cases, 1 case of kidnapping and murder, 3 weapons cases, 1 case of Special Powers Act, 1 case of money laundering, 4 cases of attacks on law enforcement officers and 2 cases of Sabotage and Explosives Act. On the other hand, in the early hours of November 12, police conducted a special operation in Habir Chha area of ​​Ward No. 1 of Teknaf Sadar Union and arrested Rashid Mia (35), Jubo League leader and UP member of Ward No. 1 of Sadar Union. There are a total of 5 cases against him including triple murder, kidnapping, sabotage and explosives, human trafficking and drugs. Teknaf Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abu Zayed Md. Nazmun Noor led the arrests and after taking legal action against the arrested, they were sent to Cox’s Bazar court.
