A drug smuggler with a large quantity of Yaba was arrested in Teknaf
November 13, in a special operation in Teknaf, the Bangladesh Coast Guard has arrested a drug smuggler with 9 Thousand 8 Hundred pieces of Yaba worth about 49 lakh taka.
On Thursday (November 13) afternoon, Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haq confirmed the matter through a press release. He said that based on a secret information, a special team of Coast Guard Station Teknaf conducted an operation in the ice factory area adjacent to Bazarghat under Teknaf Police Station at around 7 pm last Wednesday (November 12).
During the operation, Yaba hidden in a unique way inside a fish storage cabin was recovered. In this, 9 thousand 8 Hundred pieces of Yaba and a drug smuggler were arrested.
The estimated market value of the recovered Yaba is about 49 lakh taka.
Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haq further said that further legal action is in process regarding the arrested persons and the seized narcotics.
He said, “The Coast Guard will continue such operations in the future to protect the young generation from the clutches of drugs.”
