Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force Director General Major General Abdul Motaleb Sajjad Mahmud said that a strong, action-oriented young generation with talent, ability and irresistible youth power is the foundation of a prosperous state structure. He said that the trained youth of Ansar and VDP will contribute to the progress of the nation by playing a responsible role in the upcoming national elections. He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at a meeting to inspect and exchange views on the VDP training program at Gokulnagar School and College in Savar Upazila of the capital.

Later, he inspected the VDP training program at Chhota Deora Agrani High School in Gazipur metropolis and exchanged views with the trainees. During the visit, he visited the District Ansar and VDP Office,
Gazipur and participated in a meeting with the officials and gave guidance to perform their duties with utmost professionalism, honesty and reputation in the upcoming national elections.

Addressing the VDP trainees, the Director General said, “The aim of this training is not only to acquire knowledge; rather, by applying the acquired knowledge and skills in real life, a young person can play a role in public defense and also emerge as a successful entrepreneur and manage a business enterprise—that is our main objective.”

He further said that the training management of Ansar and VDP has now been reorganized into a timely and work-oriented structure, so that the young generation can play a more effective role in improving their own livelihood and in the national security and development journey.

In response to journalists’ questions regarding the upcoming 13th National Parliament Election, the Director General said, “Ansar and VDP members will perform the duty of vigilant guard to prevent any mischief or conspiracy during the election period and ensure maximum security of the polling stations.”

He further said that Ansar and VDP are committed to performing their neutral and professional duties in the national elections as an essential part of the state-planned security circle. He urged all members of the force to be always ready to face any challenge with patriotism.

The contribution of Ansar-VDP to national development and security is well-established today. This visit of the Director General will instill a new momentum in the sense of responsibility and training activities of the members of the force and will inspire them to set a unique example of professionalism and patriotism in the upcoming national elections.
