Nature Study Society of BD (NSSB), an Eco-friendly organisation, celebrates an Honouring ceremony to its notable contributors through a Get-together Program at the Sung Garden Restaurant Sunday.

The event brought together members, trainees, contributors, and well-wishers of NSSB to recognize notable persons whose dedication and creativity have significantly escalated the education and awareness program of NSSB.
Presided over by Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan, Chairman, NSSB, the program honored several distinguished; individuals for their leadership, creativity, and lifelong service towards nature study and sustainable conservation.
The Honorary Recognition Awards were presented to Prof. Dr. Mohammad Ekramol Islam, Editor, Nature Study Digest, the magazine of NSSB, for his editorial excellence and visionary leadership in shaping the official publication.
Likewise, Md. Niamul Naser, Ph.D, National Advisor, NSSB and Professor of Zoology, DU, was also recognized for his long-standing contribution to the organization’s growth and for fostering pragmatic ideas that have enhanced NSSB’s nationwide impact.
The ‘Award of Distinction’ was presented to Mr. Biplob Kumer Deb, Moderator, Notre Dame Nature Study Club (NDNSC), in appreciation of his decade-long dedication to nurturing environmental awareness among students through academic and field-based activities.
A Posthumous ‘Award of Excellence’ was presented to Late Shekhar Nath Roy, Founding Director, NSSB, honoring his outstanding contributions to nature photography, environmental writing, and mentoring young enthusiasts. His wife, Mrs. Pronoti Roy and son Niladri Roy received the award on his behalf.

The Special Honor Awards were presented to 18 esteemed contributors for their exceptional creativity in capturing the beauty of birds, trees, and the natural world through photography and writing, which
enriched the publications and online platforms, inspiring readers and young nature enthusiasts.

Bank Asia served as the lead sponsor along with a few donor members of NSSB, who extended their generous patronage.

In his closing remarks, Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan, Chairman, NSSB, expressed profound gratitude to all awardees, patrons, and sponsors, stating that “The true success of NSSB lies in the collective passion of its members and contributors who believe in creating a greener, more conscious Bangladesh.” He reaffirmed NSSB’s mission to continue environmental education, and awareness for future generations to come.
