Cooperative Day celebrated with colorful procession in Gopalganj

The 54th National Cooperative Day was celebrated in Gopalganj with a colorful procession and discussion meeting. Keeping in mind the theme “Cooperatives will build the country through equality and equality,” the auspicious beginning of the day was held on Saturday (November 1) morning at the premises of the Gopalganj Sadar Upazila Parishad.
On the occasion of the celebration of the National Cooperative Day, the chief guest of the event, Gopalganj Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate (Joint Secretary) Muhammad Kamruzzaman, hoisted the national flag with the spontaneous participation of people from all walks of life.
Later, a colorful procession led by the Deputy Commissioner left the Upazila Parishad premises and returned there after circumambulating various roads of the city.
After that, a discussion meeting was held at the auditorium of the Gopalganj Sadar Upazila Parishad.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Kamruzzaman as the chief guest.
The discussion meeting was presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Ruli Biswas.
The discussion meeting was addressed as special guests by Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Shakhawat Hossain, Gopalganj Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) M. Rakibul Hasan, District Cooperative Union President Sheikh Masudur Rahman, and District Cooperative Officer Jibannesa Khanam.
The speakers said that the cooperative movement is one of the foundations of the country’s development, employment, and economic self-reliance.
Sustainable development can be ensured if the spirit of cooperatives is implemented through public participation.
At the end of the program, District Commissioner Muhammad Kamruzzaman, along with the invited guests, presented awards to the successful cooperative organizations and representatives of the district.
Officials of various government and private organizations, public representatives, representatives of various cooperative organizations, and media personnel working in various electronic and print media in the district were present at the time.
Additionally, National Cooperative Day-2025 was duly celebrated in Muksudpur Upazila, Kashiani, Tungipara and Kotalipara Upazilas.
