The 54th National Cooperative Day was celebrated with due dignity, keeping in mind the theme “Equality and Equality, Cooperatives Will Build the Country”.
The event was inaugurated and addressed as the chief guest by Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Abdullah Al Mahmud Zaman.
On Saturday morning, a colorful rally was taken out from the premises of the Deputy Commissioner’s office at the initiative of the District Administration and Cooperatives Department. After the rally, the rally went around the main roads of the city and met for a discussion meeting at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference room.
The discussion meeting, chaired by District Cooperative Officer Suman Chandra Pal, was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Rafiquzzaman, Additional Superintendent of Police Sajal Kumar Sarkar, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Asma Binte Rafiq, among others, as special guests.
In his speech as the chief guest, the Deputy Commissioner said, “Cooperatives are an important partner in the development and prosperity of the country. Working together, it is possible to complete big tasks easily. Sustainable development can be achieved through cooperatives in other sectors including agriculture.”
