A five-day Chukball training has been inaugurated in Kaliganj, Gazipur, on the occasion of Youth Festival-2025, organized by the Upazila Administration in collaboration with the Bangladesh Chukball Association.
On Wednesday (October 29) afternoon, Upazila Youth Development Officer and Youth Festival Celebration Committee Member Secretary Md. Ismail Bhuiyan presided over the inaugural ceremony of Chukball training, with Upazila Executive Officer and Youth Festival Celebration Committee Convener ATM Kamrul Islam present as the chief guest. Upazila Secondary Education Officer Nur-e- Jannat was the special guest.
Among others, Upazila Engineer Md. Rezaul Haque, Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Mahmudul Hasan, Upazila Public Health Engineer Abul Hossain Akash, Kaliganj Municipality Assistant Engineer Monnur Ahmed, Upazila Sports Association Member Zahid Hasan Manu, Municipal Administrative Officer Shyamal Kumar Dutta and others were present.
Speakers at the inaugural ceremony said that Chukball is a team-based game that develops physical fitness, mental concentration and a spirit of mutual cooperation.
Youth should be kept away from drugs and terrorism through sports.
Human values ​​and a spirit of cooperation should be instilled in them.
Such training will develop the leadership qualities of the youth and create opportunities for positive entertainment.
Bangladesh Chukball Association trainer Abdur Rob Mithu will provide training at Kaliganj Pilot School ground every day from 11 am to 1 pm on Thursday until next Sunday (November 2).
Students from 8 secondary educational institutions in the upazila are participating in this five-day training.
