The Bangladesh Coast Guard has seized 50,000 pieces of yaba tablets worth 2 crore 50 lakh taka in a raid in Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar.
On Wednesday (October 29, 2025) afternoon, Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haq confirmed this information in a press release.
He said that based on a secret tip-off, a team from Coast Guard Station Teknaf conducted a special raid in the Jaliapara Khankar Dail area under Teknaf police station at around 5 am on Wednesday.
During the raid, a suspicious person, sensing the presence of the Coast Guard, fled by throwing a plastic bag into the jungle.
Later, when the bag was recovered and searched, about 50,000 pieces of yaba tablets were found, with an estimated market value of about 2 crore 50 lakh taka.
The Coast Guard said that the process of taking further legal action regarding the seized Yaba is underway.
Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haq said, “The Bangladesh Coast Guard’s operations to prevent drug trafficking will continue in the future.”
