In order to increase agricultural production in Ullapara Upazila of Sirajganj, free seeds and fertilizers have been distributed among small and marginal farmers.

On Wednesday (October 29) morning, Upazila Executive Officer and Upazila Parishad Administrator Abu Saleh Mohammad Hasnat inaugurated the program at the Upazila Parishad premises organized by the Upazila Agricultural Extension Department.

Upazila Agriculture Officer Krishibid Suborna Yasmin Sumi presided over the program.

Under the government-announced incentive program, high-yielding mustard, wheat, winter onion, sunflower, lentils, khesari, arhar seeds and chemical fertilizers have been distributed among a total of 16,110 small and marginal farmers in one municipality and 14 unions of the upazila.

Upazila Agriculture Officer Suborna Yasmin Sumi said that this government incentive will play an important role in increasing the production of farmers and creating self-reliant agriculture.

Deputy Assistant Plant Protection Officer Md. Sarwar Hossain, Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officer Md. Abdul Alim, and Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officer Iqbal Hossain were present at the time.
