BRTA & Ctg Dristrict Administration celebrated “National Safe Road Day 2025”

“Quality helmets and safe speed, will reduce loss of life and property” today (9th time) on October 22 (Wednesday)

“National Safe Road Day 2025” was celebrated by BRTA, Chittagong.

On the occasion of the day, various awareness programs were organized by BRTA Chittagong, District Administration Chittagong and RH Chittagong. A colorful rally started at 9.00 am from the Engineering Institution premises at Ispahani intersection in the city and ended at the Chittagong Circuit House premises.

After the rally, an important discussion meeting was held in the Chittagong Circuit House conference room in the presence of Divisional Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, CMP Traffic Department, Highway Police, BRAC, journalist representatives, BNCC, Rover Scouts, civil society and road transport related owners and workers representatives. The discussion meeting expressed deep concern over the recent increase in unwanted deaths in motorcycle accidents. Following the discussion meeting, a check of Tk 39 lakh was distributed as compensation to the families of the injured and deceased (09) in road accidents that occurred in Chittagong district, and free quality helmets were distributed to a total of 15 motorcycle license holders.

Divisional Commissioner, Chittagong Dr. Zia Uddin , CMP Chittagong Additional Police Commissioner (Traffic) Md. Asfiquzzaman Akhter, Deputy Commissioner Ctg Saiful Islam, BRTA, Chittagong Divisional Office Director (Engineering) Md. Masud Alam, District Administration, Chittagong Additional District Magistrate Syed Mahbubul Haque, Chittagong District Road Division Executive Engineer Mohammad Moslehuddin Chowdhury, Highway Police Comilla Region Additional Superintendent Kirtiman Chakma, Chittagong Range DIG Office Police Superintendent Md. Absa Rahim, Chittagong Press Club Member Secretary Zahidul Karim Kochi, Chittagong District Bus-Minibus Owners Group Secretary General Morshedul Alam Kaderi and others.

After the discussion meeting, a road campaign to increase road safety and awareness was conducted at the GEC intersection in the city, distributing leaflets, stickers and brochures among pedestrians, drivers and passengers.
