A strike and sit-in program has been observed in Netrakona, like the rest of the country, in protest against the attack on respected teachers, officials and regular meritorious students of Dhaka College and the vandalism of the Teachers’ Lounge, demanding the prompt arrest of the culprits and exemplary punishment.
On Tuesday, October 14, 2025, the leaders and teachers of the BCS General Education Cadre Association held a day-long strike and sit-in program at Netrakona Government Women’s College from the morning and wearing black badges.
Professor Bidhan Chandra Mitra, Principal of Netrakona Government Women’s College and President of BCS General Education Cadre Association, Netrakona Government Women’s College Unit, were present at the time; Associate Professor and General Secretary Mr. S. M. Shakhawat Hossain; and Assistant Professor and Organizing Secretary Mr. Khandaker Oli Ullah.
The teacher leaders said that the country’s education sector is outraged and shocked by the heinous attack on Dhaka College.
The attackers must be arrested immediately and given exemplary punishment.
They also said that the movement will continue until the just demands are implemented to protect the dignity and interests of the education cadre.
