RAB-15 has arrested 3 members of a kidnapping gang in Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar, after conducting a daring raid on the hideout of the kidnappers with the victims who had escaped from the hideout.
A press release signed by RAB Law and Media Officer Assistant Superintendent of Police A.M. Faruk said, On the morning of October 10, 2025, following the complaint of three victims who had escaped from the hands of the kidnapping gang, a smart operation team of CPC-1, Teknaf RAB-15 Cox’s Bazar conducted a combing operation in Hatiyar Ghona Lengurbil area of ​​Sadar Union under Teknaf Model Police Station in Cox’s Bazar district based on secret information and arrested 3 members of the kidnapping gang: Akhtar Hossain (34), son of Zafar Alam of Teknaf, Md. Hamim (21), son of Md. Kachim of Ukhia Registered Camp 4, and Arafat Ullah (26), son of Abdur Rahman of Ukhia Registered Camp 19.
The other 4 members of the kidnapping gang escaped.
He further said that 2/3 unidentified kidnappers, including the accused named in the complaint, lured the victims to Teknaf with the intention of extorting ransom and smuggling them abroad and offering them jobs and arrested them.
Later, the victims, realizing the kidnapping, forcibly escaped from the kidnappers’ hideout and came to the CPC-1 office to seek shelter and filed a written complaint. RAB sources further informed that the victim, Md. Mehraj Uddin (19), has filed a complaint under the relevant sections against the accused in this incident at the Teknaf Model Police Station.
