Giving memorandum to journalists demanding withdrawal of OC of Jashore’s Sharsha police station
A memorandum has been submitted to the office of the Superintendent of Police at the initiative of the Jashore District Journalists Union demanding the withdrawal of Abdul Alim, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sharsha Police Station in Jessore district.
The memorandum was submitted at the office of the Superintendent of Police in Jessore District on Wednesday (October 8, 2025) at 11 am with the organization’s president Sheikh Dinu Ahmed in the chair.
District Press Club President Zahid Hasan Tukun, District Journalists Union Vice-President Anair Kabir Nantu, General Secretary Dewan Morshed Alam and other leaders were present at the time.
The memorandum alleged that on September 11, Monirul Islam Moni, Sharsha Upazila correspondent of Dainik Lok Samaj and Dainik Dinkal, executive member of Jessore District Journalists Union and organizing secretary of Benapole Press Club, was arrested in a conspiracy without any investigation.
The journalist community has expressed anger over the incident and demanded the immediate withdrawal of the current OC of Sharsha Police Station in the interest of ensuring justice.
The concerned officials of the Superintendent of Police’s office were present when the memorandum was received and they assured to consider the matter seriously.
