Workshop on “Typhoid Vaccine” held in Gopalganj

Under the project titled “Awareness Promotion Activities for Protecting Children, Adolescents and Women’s Development”, a workshop on “Typhoid Vaccine” was held at the district level with the participation of media workers with the financial support of UNICEF Bangladesh.
Under the current government’s EPI program, this vaccination campaign is going to start nationwide on October 12 through online application.
With the overall support of UNICEF Bangladesh, the District Information Office organized a workshop on “Swachhta” at the conference room of the Gopalganj Deputy Commissioner on Wednesday (October 8) at 11 am.
The workshop was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner and learned District Magistrate Muhammad Kamaruzzaman.
The District Information Officer Md. Sulaiman moderated the workshop, while District Civil Surgeon Dr. Abu Sayeed Md. Faruk, Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Ziaul Haque, District Education Officer Khondaker Ruhul Amin, District Primary Education Officer Mosa: Jyotsna Khatun, Medical Officer Dr. Dibakar Biswas spoke.
Assistant Commissioner SS Amirul Mostafa, Gopalganj Municipal Executive Officer SM Rakibul Islam and media personnel working in various electronic and print media in the district were present at the time.
According to sources from the Gopalganj Civil Surgeon Office, children and adolescents aged between 9 months and 15 years old were given online access to the information. Typhoid vaccination will start from October 12 through registration. This vaccine has no side effects.
Apart from Bangladesh, this vaccine is being used in other countries of the world.
This year, 3 lakh 43 thousand 73 children and adolescents will be vaccinated in the district.
