With the idea that there is no alternative to sports to keep the youth away from drugs, an important initiative has been taken in Palgaon area of ​​Gaondia Union of Louhajang Upazila.
1.04 acres of government land has been recovered in the area, where the construction of a playground will begin soon.
Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Md. Nesar Uddin visited the site on Tuesday afternoon.
If the field is built on this recovered land, the local youth will be able to participate in sports regularly.
Locals believe that this will motivate the youth to abstain from various social irregularities including drugs and lead a healthy lifestyle.
The area has been lacking a suitable playground for a long time.
If the new field is built, it will not only provide opportunities for sports, but it will also be a center for social gatherings and youth involvement in constructive activities.
Upazila Executive Officer UNO Md. Nesar Uddin said, “The initial plan for the construction of the field has been completed and we hope that its implementation will begin soon.”
Local people have welcomed the initiative and expressed their hope for the work to start soon.
