A typhoid vaccination campaign orientation workshop was organized at Joypurhat civil surgeon office conference room in Joypurhat on October 6. In collaboration with district information office funded by UNICEF, the Joypurhat civil surgeon office organized this orientation workshop for local journalists. Various information related to the talks were presented at the workshop by Joypurhat Civil Surgeon Dr. Md. Al Mamun, Joypurhat Islamic Foundation Deputy Director Mazedur Rahman, Mass Communication Directorate (Ministry of Information and Broadcasting) assistant director Masriat Jahan Barsha, district information officer Ibrahim Mollah Suman, Joypurhat Press Club President Abu Bakr Siddiqui, general Secretary Masud Rana and other journalists. The moderators in the workshop said that under the ongoing program, all children aged 9 months to 15 years or all literate students from pre-primary to ninth grade (about 2.5 lakh) will be given one dose of vaccine free of cost. The speakers emphasized the role of press in creating public awareness to counter rumors and benefit from the vaccine.
