A lawyer was attacked in Sreepur, Gazipur over past enmity.
In this incident, Advocate Shafiqul Islam, son of Miaur Uddin Pradhan of Narayanpur village of Gusinga union upazila, filed a written complaint with Sreepur police station accusing Farid Sarkar and 10 unidentified people of the same area. In his written complaint, the victim Shafiqul Islam mentioned that on Saturday (September 27), at around 7 pm, while he was standing in front of Zakir’s shop in Mohakhali Bazar, Md. Farid Sarkar (42) and 10 other unidentified people from the same area rode a motorcycle and hit him. As a result, he fell on the road and the motorcycle was driven over his left knee. This broke his kneecap. Later, the attackers beat him up indiscriminately with knives, punches, kicks and sticks.
Shafiqul Islam is a learned lawyer of the Gazipur Judge Court.
When contacted repeatedly, Farid Sarkar did not respond to any request. In this regard, Sreepur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Barik said, “We have received a written complaint.
The matter will be investigated and necessary legal action will be taken.”
