Jamaat election committee meeting in Fulchhari
An important election committee meeting was held at the initiative of the Fulchhari Upazila branch of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami. The meeting was held on Monday (September 29) afternoon in the room of the Fulchhari Senior Alim Madrasa in the upazila. Jamaat-nominated parliamentary candidate from Saghata-Fulchhari constituency, freedom fighter Abdul Wares, was present as the chief guest in the meeting. He stressed on the importance of election preparations and increasing organizational strength, saying that Jamaat has always been struggling to protect the people’s voting rights and will continue to work alongside the people in the future. The meeting was presided over by Maulana Sirajul Islam Akand, Ameer Principal of Fulchhari Upazila Jamaat. The meeting, moderated by Maulana Anisur Rahman, secretary of Fulchhari Upazila Jamaat, was attended by Maulana Saidur Rahman, president of Gaibandha District Ulama Division, Maulana Amjad Hossain, former Ameer of Upazila Jamaat, and local leaders. Leaders of various unions in the upazila, local workers and supporters were present. The speakers said that the main task now is to consolidate the organization at the grassroots level and establish close contact with the people in view of the elections. They urged everyone to get organized and make honest and qualified candidates win.
