A robbery incident occurred in two trawlers in the Kurer Par Haor area of Naothana, a place called Jagannathpur and Boali in Mendipur Union of Khaliajuri Upazila of the district. The robbers looted 5 bhari 12 annas of gold, 170 bhari silver and 3 mobile phones from the passengers. According to police and local sources, on Saturday (September 27), after the Maghrib call, robbers suddenly attacked two trawlers in a place called Naothana in a haor in Mendipur Union. In the attack, the passengers of the trawler injured a gold trader named Himel Banik (28), a resident of Deothan area, Ward No. 4 of Mohanganj Municipality, and looted 5.12 annas worth of gold, 170 silver, and 3 mobile phones from him. When contacted, Khaliajuri Police Station Officer-in-Charge Maqbul Hossain confirmed the incident and said that an investigation is underway in this regard, and raids are being conducted at various places to arrest the robbers and recover the gold ornaments.
