College student killed by being thrown from a roof in Noakhali
A college student named Atiqul Islam Titas (25) has been allegedly killed by being thrown from a roof in Maijdi, Noakhali. However, police say that no specific cause of the college student’s death is yet known. The incident took place on the roof of the multi-storey building of the Bibi Convention Hall Center in Maijdi town of the upazila on Saturday (September 27) afternoon. The deceased Titas is the son of Abdul Gani, the Shaheed Chairman of the Hajipur area of Chowmuhani Municipality. The deceased’s elder brother Ariful Islam complained that Titas was a second-year degree student of Noakhali College. Although our house is in the Choumuni Municipality area, we have been living in a rented house on the third floor of Akhtar Bhaban on Noakhali District Road for the last 20-25 years. Titas left the house in the morning. Around noon, someone brutally tortured college student Titas on the roof of the multi-storey building of the Bibi Convention Hall Center in Maizdi city and threw him down. Later, locals found him lying on the street and took him to the 250-bed General Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him dead. The deceased’s elder brother also said that after receiving the news, we went to the hospital. Titas’s hand was broken in three ways, and there were injury marks on his leg. There were injury marks on his neck. However, we do not know anything about who or what committed this incident. When asked, Inspector (Investigation) Abu Taher, who is in charge of the OC of Sudharam Model Police Station, said that he was not thrown from the roof to death. However, he died by falling from the roof. The matter is being investigated. Police are at the scene. No cause of death has been known yet.
