Donation checks have been distributed for various puja mandap in Bandarban on the occasion of Sharadiya Durga Puja one of the largest religious festivals of the Sanatan Dharma followers.The cheque distribution was organized by the Bandarban Hill District Council on Monday (September 22).District Council Chairman Professor Thanjama Lusai was present as the chief guest and distributed the cheques.On this day,cheques for the grant allocated by the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs were distributed to the leaders of 32 Autumn Durga Puja Celebration Councils in 7 upazilas of Bandarban.Chief Executive Officer of the Hill District Council Md.Nazrul Islam, Executive Officer MD.Abul Mansur,District Council Member Md.Abul Kalam,May May Nue,Khurshida Ishaq,Md.Nasir Uddin and others were present at the time.

During the event,the chief guest District Council Chairman Professor Thanjama Lusai called on all concerned to make Durga Puja grand and joyful.He highlighted the financial assistance provided by the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs for the successful completion of major religious festivals like Durga Puja and thanked the ministry.Later,he distributed cheques worth a total of Tk 25 lakh Tk. to the leaders of the celebration councils of 32 autumn Durga Puja pavilions in 7 upazilas.Also present at the event were Rajeshwar Das Biplob, President of Sri Sri Universal Central Durga Festival Celebration Council Bandarban, General Secretary Sabuj Dutta Baccu and leaders of Sri Sri Universal Central Durga Festival Celebration Council of 7 upazilas.
