Ansar Uddin Khan Pathan is Additional IGP in the Police
The government has promoted retired police officer Ansar Uddin Khan Pathan as Additional IGP. The promotion was given through a notification of the Ministry of Public Administration on Monday (September 15). Earlier, on April 30, the government appointed him as the Coordinator, Grade-1, of the International Crimes Tribunal’s Investigation Agency for two years on a contractual basis. He is currently serving in that position. Ansar Uddin Khan Pathan is well known as a smart, honest and humane police officer. He is also known as a skilled and popular teacher. Many of the current young police officers are his direct students. During the caretaker government in 2007, he was in a responsible position in the police reform program and incurred the wrath of the subsequent ruling class. However, due to his professionalism and honesty, he could not be removed from the police force. He retired as an officer of the Bangladesh Police in 2022. Since retirement, he has been active in social service activities and writing. Ansar Uddin Khan Pathan’s father is the late Surat Ali. Before starting his career as a police officer, his mother’s dream was that he would work in a high government position, but he started his career only after his mother’s death. Ansar Uddin Khan Pathan’s village home, Shaheda Memorial Library, has built an institution named after his mother to build an enlightened society in Kajla village, Bairati Union, Purbadhala Upazila, Netrokona district. During his career, he served as the Superintendent of the Bangladesh Police Academy. Due to his honesty, dedication and professional skills, he was known as a respected officer by his colleagues and subordinates. This promotion of Ansar Uddin Khan Pathan, a talented son of Purbadhala Upazila, Netrokona district, has created joy and pride among the local people. They believe that this talented person will contribute more to the welfare of the country and the nation in his new role.
