A false case and harassment allegations have been filed against Jahangir Howlader of Nachnapara village, ward 3 of Amtali Sadar Union, for not paying the donation. On Saturday afternoon, the victims of harassment, Abu Saleh Khan, Monir Mridha, Jahirul Pyada, Anwar Mridha, Miraj, Rafiq Madbar and Jewel Gazi, complained about his activities at the Amtali Journalists Union office. The victims demanded the withdrawal of the false case after a quick investigation and legal and organizational action against his activities. It is learned that after August 5 last year, Jahangir Howlader, son of the deceased Moktar Ali Howlader of Nachnapara village of the upazila, established a terror revenue in the area. Locals allege that he has been committing various crimes in the area, including arbitration, extortion, false cases and false witness by posing as a BNP leader. Whenever an incident occurs in the Nachnapara area, he (Jahangir) incites and accuses ordinary people in false cases. He or his son Sohel Howlader and his family members become witnesses in all those cases. Later, he extorts money from the defendants in the cases by threatening them to give evidence. On Saturday afternoon, Abu Saleh Khan, Monir Mridha, Jahirul Pyada, Anwar Mridha, Miraj, Rafiq Madbar and Jewel Gazi made such allegations at the Amtali Journalists Union office. It has been learned that Sobahan Pyada filed a case with the Amtali police station on March 27. Sohel Howlader, son of Jahangir Howlader, is a witness in that case. On August 27 last year, a person named Majid Gazi filed a case in the Amtoli Senior Judicial Magistrate Court. Ward BNP President Jahangir Hawladar is a witness in that case. On August 19, Shahjahan filed a case in the Musulli Court. He is also a witness in that case. Also, on September 11, Jahangir Hawladar filed a case in the Amtoli Senior Judicial Magistrate Court against six people, including Abu Saleh Khan, accusing them of setting fire to shops and houses. According to the victim Abu Saleh Khan, Ward BNP President Jahangir Hawladar is a terror in the area. Using his party position and title, he collects extortion from the defendant by filing false cases or by giving evidence in cases. If the extortion is not paid, he is harassing him by giving false evidence in the case. He also alleged that he has been made a defendant in two cases for not paying the extortion demanded by him (Jahangir). The victims further alleged that in all the cases filed in the Nachnapara area in the last one year, he, his son Sohel Howlader and his family members are witnesses and harassing people. The people of the area are demanding freedom from his harassment. The victims have demanded that legal and organizational action be taken against his activities immediately. In this regard, Jahangir Howlader, President of Ward No. 3 BNP of Amtoli Sadar Union, said that all the allegations brought against me are false. Such allegations have been brought to tarnish my image and that of the party. Tuhin Mridha, Member Secretary of Amtoli Upazila BNP, said that there are various allegations against Ward BNP President Jahangir Howlader. If the investigation finds the truth of the allegations against him, organizational action will be taken. Amtoli Police Station OC Dewan Jaglul Hasan said, a case came to me to file a case on the charge of burning shops and houses, but I did not take the case. Later, he filed a case in court. He also said that action will be taken after investigating the matter.
