According to BGB sources, Felani’s younger brother participated in the recruitment test organized by Lalmonirhat Battalion (15 BGB) on February 23, 2025 and passed. At a ceremony organized at the battalion headquarters on Thursday (September 18), the battalion commander, Lieutenant Colonel Mehedi Imam, PSC, officially handed over the appointment letter to him. He will join the training center on September 19. At the ceremony, Lalmonirhat Battalion Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Mehedi Imam said, “BGB is always by Felani’s family. We are always vigilant to ensure that brutal incidents like Felani’s murder do not happen again on the border. ” He expressed hope that after the training, Felani’s brother will dedicate himself to the service of the motherland as a qualified BGB member. It is worth mentioning that on January 7, 2011, a teenager, Felani Khatun, was killed in a BSF firing on the Cooch Behar border in India. The heartbreaking scene of her body hanging from a barbed wire fence created a huge stir in the country and abroad. Her family has been fighting for justice for a long time. The fact that Felani’s younger brother got a job in the BGB has become a ray of hope for the family and locals. They believe that one day she will fulfill the unfulfilled dream of her sister, who sacrificed her life for the country.
