Newly appointed Deputy Commissioner Sifat Mehnaz interacted with media workers in Kurigram. On September 17 (Wednesday), this interaction meeting was held from 4 pm to 6 pm with more than a hundred media workers from electronic and print media of the district in a lively atmosphere at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference room. Kurigram’s new Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Sifat Mehnaz presided over the event. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) B. M. Qudrat-e-Khuda moderated the program. At the interaction meeting, media workers highlighted the problems and prospects of the district. They strongly demanded free exchange of information for development and elimination of corruption. At this time, newly appointed Deputy Commissioner Sifat Mehnaz said, ‘I work for the country, for the people of the country. If anyone resorts to corruption in my office, he will have to take responsibility. There is no compromise on irregularities and corruption. For me, patriotism comes first. I challenge you not to find any corruption in me. At this time, he also said that just as the writing of journalists removes the inconsistencies of society, dishonest journalism also harms society. Therefore, he called on journalists to be objective in journalism.
