BGB operation in Naf River recovers 240,000 Yaba tablets

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) is always vigilant in combating drugs and smuggling. In continuation of this, Teknaf Battalion (2 BGB) recovered a huge quantity of drugs in a breathless operation in Naf River.
On Sunday, September 14, 2025, at approximately 12.50 am, Teknaf Battalion (2 BGB) conducted an adventurous operation based on secret information. Intelligence sources had informed that a large consignment of drugs from Myanmar would be smuggled into Bangladesh through Naf River. Based on intelligence information, Teknaf Battalion (2 BGB) Commander Lt. Col. Ashikur Rahman, PSC, planned and intensified intelligence surveillance and special patrols. As per the plan, on the specified day, several expeditionary teams of 2 BGB under his leadership laid traps at various strategic locations in the Naf River to catch the criminals. Late at night on September 14, when three suspects were seen swimming across the international border, the BGB naval patrol teams, which were already on the lookout, launched a surprise operation in the waters between Jaliar Island and Shoar Island with great caution. Seeing the drug traffickers fleeing, the BGB naval patrol team chased them at lightning speed, but the smugglers left the drug packets in the river and quickly fled towards Myanmar. Then, the smart patrol teams coordinated with skill and speed to recover the Yaba packets floating in the water and bring them to the shore. The Yaba packets were counted and a total of two hundred and forty thousand Yaba tablets were found. Since they crossed the Bangladesh border and entered the Myanmar part, it was not possible to arrest anyone on the spot, and the names and identities of the accused have been identified. In this incident, The absconding accused are Abdur Rahim Badsha (42), father-deceased Sultan Ahmed, mother- Kayla Bibi. Address: Village- Damdamia Ward No. 9, Post-Hnila, Thana- Teknaf, District- Cox’s Bazar. C. Jasim Uddin (25), father- Ismail, mother- Dilbahar. Address: Village- Damdamia Ward No. 9, Post-Hnila, Thana- Teknaf, District- Cox’s Bazar. This successful operation is a reflection of the BGB’s strong determination to protect the border and their strict stance in suppressing crime.
