The mother of Mahbub Alam and his younger brother Maruf Hasan Meherun Nessa holds press conference at Joypurhat Press Club’s conference room to protest their torture and various threats on September 6 noon In Joypurhat.
Seeking security, Meherun Nessa, wife of late Abul Kashem of Bishnapur village under sadar upazila of the district reads out a written statement in front of newsmen. In her written statement, she said, “My three sons are Mahbub Alam (current address- Mouna Bina, Bangabandhu Road, Joypurhat), Maruf Hosne (current address- Rina Metalik, Panchbibi Road, Joypurhat), Masud Rana and one daughter Rina Parveen. My husband was worried before his death about my future and decided to give me 32 decimals of land. Later, he did it. He gave me 32 decimals of land on 24/07/2011 as per the registration deed. It’s Serial No. 5076, Book No. 01, Deed No. 5048. The said property was subsequently registered online in my name, with DCR number- UIZ25384702408007, ledger-703, holding number- 184, registry number- 1392 and 1394. But land is being occupied by two sons, Mahbub Alam and Maruf Hossain. Mother Meherun Nessa, who is demanding the land, has filed a case against them, including Masud Rana, her sister-in-law Khurshid Bagem, her granddaughter Munni and her son-in-law Fazle Rabsih, alleging that they have threatened to kill her. She also said that they can kill her at any time. She cannot even stay at home. She is suffering from a sense of insecurity in her house. In this situation, she wants the close cooperation of the administration concerned and the media to rescue her land and provide her with security.
When they went to ask for that land, two brothers’ field false case against them including their mother Meherun Nessa, second son Masud Rana his wife Khursida Begum, her granddaughter Munni and her husband Fazle Rabbi. The victim’s second son Masud Rana, his wife Khursida Begum, and granddaughter Munni were present at the press conference.
