Prof. Mujibur Rahman: Nomination trading will stop if voting is done through PR system

Speaking at the public hall of the district town, Jamaat-e-Islami’s Nayeb-e-Amir and former member of parliament Professor Mujibur Rahman said that if the voting is done under the PR (Proportional Representation) system, nomination trading will stop and every vote will be properly evaluated. “He made these comments while speaking as the chief guest at the Netrakona District Jamaat’s bi-monthly member (RUKON) conference. The conference was held on Thursday (August 28) at the Netrakona Public Hall under the initiative of the district branch. The conference, chaired by Jamaat-e-Islami District Branch Ameer Maulana Sadeq Ahmed Harish and moderated by Secretary Professor Maulana Mahabubur Rahman, featured special guests including Secretary General Professor Dr. Shamiul Haque Farukhi and Regional Team Member Mymensingh and former District Ameer Professor Maulana Enamul Haque. The speakers said that Jamaat members must work unitedly to build a just state and a humane Bangladesh. They also said that it is possible to establish good governance in the country only on the basis of Islamic values and ideals. The conference highlighted the importance of moral life in the light of the Quran and Hadith and discussed the responsibilities and duties of members in building a family, society, and state. The speakers accused the government of political narrow-mindedness, human rights violations, and suppression of dissent, and argued that there is no alternative to politics based on Islamic ideology to overcome these conditions.
