Four people died in separate accidents in Thakurgaon on Monday. Among them, Jasim (30) was killed and four others were injured in a head-on collision between two motorcycles in Ranishankail upazila of the district. The accident occurred on Sunday (August 24) afternoon in the Nekmrod Karnait Notun Basti area of Ranishankail upazila. The deceased was Jasim Uddin, son of Soleman Ali of Bhanor village in Kashipur union. The injured are Muktarul Islam (35), Sultana Begum (28), Sanjay Roy (25) and an unidentified person. According to locals, Jasim Uddin, Muktarul and Sultana were going towards Baliadangi upazila on a motorcycle with their child. When they collided head-on with Sanjay Roy, a motorcyclist coming from the other direction, they all fell on the paved road. Local people rescued them and took them to Ranishankail Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared Jasim Uddin dead and referred Sanjay Roy to Rangpur for better treatment. The other injured are undergoing treatment at Upazila Health Complex. Family members said that Sanjay Roy’s condition is critical.
