A 7-year-old child has been accused of being raped in Sadar Upazila of the district. On Friday (August 22) afternoon, while she was playing with other children, her neighbor Ershad Ali lured her into his house and brutally tortured her with a ring and money. The child is currently undergoing treatment at the District Headquarters Hospital. The child’s mother has filed a case with Model Police Station as the plaintiff in this incident. However, the accused is still at large. According to the victim’s family, local, hospital and police sources, the child was playing with other children on Friday afternoon in Rajendrapur Paschimpara village in Challisha union of Sadar upazila. Then neighbor Ershad Ali called him into his house and brutally tortured him. At this time, the accused fled when the neighbors, including Masa, heard the child’s screams and the calls of other children. Child was later quickly rescued and taken to the district town’s modern Sadar Hospital, where doctors provided first aid. Upon receiving the news, the police visited the hospital that night. The victim’s mother filed a complaint with Model Police Station on Friday night. The police took the case into consideration on Saturday after finding the truth in the initial investigation. Meanwhile, Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge OC Kazi Shahnewaz said that efforts are underway to arrest the accused Ershad Ali, who has been absconding since the incident. He said he did a heinous act. The man has been absconding since the incident. Efforts are underway to arrest him. The child is being treated.
