A human chain and demonstration were held to protest the planned murder of bKash activist Rijan Talukder and demand swift and exemplary punishment for those involved. This program was organized under the banner of Bikash colleagues, friends and conscious citizens on the road in front of the central Shaheed Minar in the district town on Wednesday at around 3 pm. District Development Manager Supriya Jyoti Sarkar, Supervisor Russell Mia, and workers including Zahid Hasan, Rejuan Mia, Manik Saha, Tirtha Sen, Ashraful Islam, Sohraf, and others spoke at the human chain. The speakers said that the brutal murder of Vikas activist Rijan Talukder is proof of the insecurity of the common people of the country. BKash workers across the country are now insecure. Such incidents are occurring because prompt action is not taken in the various incidents of attacks and persecution against them, including murder. If the government does not take an effective role quickly, the state will have to bear all the responsibility. Those involved in the murder of Rizon must be brought to justice as soon as possible and exemplary punishment must be ensured. In addition, the speakers demanded the formation of a special tribunal to ensure justice for attacks, cases, torture, persecution, and murders against BKash workers. Note: Rizon Mia is the son of Rafiqul Islam of the West Nagra area of the district town. He was working as an employee of the mobile banking service provider (MFS) bKash agent in the district town. According to police and family sources, Rizon left the Bikash agent office in Netrokona town on Sunday morning with 1.25 million taka. He was last seen at the Sadar Upazila market around 3 pm. Since then, his cell phone has been found switched off. After searching for him in various places and not finding him, the family filed a general diary (GD) at Netrokona Model Police Station that night. At the scene, some locals saw the decomposed body floating in the Magra River with its hands and feet tied. Upon receiving the information, the police went and recovered the body and took it to the police station. Later, the body was identified as that of Rizon by his family members.
